Dr Luke Hodgson
Luke is an Intensive Care & Respiratory Consultant at Worthing, UHSussex and Honorary Clinical Reader at Brighton & Sussex Medical School.
Luke has expertise in translational research between Critical Care and Sport & Exercise medicine, with the use of technology and biomarkers. He is Chief Investigator of studies exploring integration of technology to enable activity and exercise in acute hospital settings, including following COVID-19 critical illness. Luke’s MD was in the field of risk stratification and implementation of electronic prediction models, including incorporation of AKI biomarkers, in clinical practice.
Co-Investigator on MOSAICC a £2M NIHR HTA multi-centre RCT investigating sodium bicarbonate in AKI & metabolic acidosis, hold an Individual Development Award from ARC NIHR and is Respiratory Lead for NIHR CRN KSS. Luke enjoys encouraging early career researchers across multiple disciplines in their research journeys.
