Brighton Marathon Research 2022
The Brighton Marathon Research Group continues to carry out valuable research on the effects of marathon running on the human body with some exciting new projects this year:
- Continuous Temperature monitoring
- Haemodynamic monitoring
- Biomarkers of inflammation and organ perfusion
Exercise is essential to a healthy lifestyle but the effects of endurance events on different body systems remain poorly understood. The Brighton Marathon Research Group is dedicated to improving the understanding of marathon running on the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and renal systems. We are building on the success of previous research into the levels of biomarkers linked to renal disease.
